One month before our first wedding anniversary.

We’ve been given the gift of gab.
We’re on the same page, we like the same jokes and we have the same sarcastic wit.
We can go round and round in circles about stuff where we can argue about something until the end of the earth and then still hug, kiss and laugh with each other and be lovers and friends.
We have a lot of commonalities and also differences.
For all these, I am grateful.
We are on our 11th month of being married. Being with you is beyond feeling ecstatic.
I love you, my B.

Music plays a big part in our relationship – here’s our version of a mixtape.

Early in our engagement when we were trying to veer from the inevitable months of preparation, I’ve chanced upon a song that’s been in my playlist for so long – ‘Good Morning Sunshine’ by Jah Cure. Right there and then, our situation shed a new light to the song – I imagined it to be playing on our wedding – specifically right after the ceremony when we’re about to be welcomed by our guests.
It inspired me to compile all the songs that I dedicate to Jaycelle. From there, the compilation grew bigger that I was able to categorize it into the different stages of our big day.
Over the years we’ve shared so many songs together, mostly from me whenever I would dedicate to her songs that I would like given with the right lyrics. She would instantly like those songs. Some were soundtracks of movies we both liked upon watching.
Talk About Music
That’s how our friendship started – during the first few weeks at the office where we met, we have gotten each other’s Yahoo! Messenger IDs and I would share MP3s with her – songs that I found melodic and sometimes mushy- songs that only sentimental types would like. Those songs didn’t have consistent genres collectively – from Tracy Chapman’s The Promise to Athlete’s Half Light – I would just transfer everything and she seemed to be thrilled each time.
On our coming 1st wedding anniversary, just in time I have encountered the perfect song to inspire me once again to build a compilation:
And darling I will be loving you ’til we’re 70
Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran
And baby my heart could still fall as hard at 23
And I’m thinking ’bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways
Maybe just the touch of a hand
Oh me I fall in love with you every single day
And I just wanna tell you I am

Months before the big day, I’ve heard a song, ‘Good Morning’ by Jah Rule – right there and then, I imagined it to be one of our wedding songs. In fact, it inspired me to compile all the songs that I dedicate to Jaycelle. One of those was ‘Hold My Hand’ by Hootie and the Blowfish. From there, the compilation grew and grew that I was able to categorize it by Preparation, Ceremony, and Reception. Over the years we’ve shared so many songs together, mostly from me and when I dedicate it to her, she would instantly like it. Some songs were soundtracks from movies we mutually like upon watching.
In fact that is how we started. During her 1st few weeks at LWS, we have gotten each other’s Yahoo! Messenger IDs and I would share some MP3s with her – songs that I find with mushy lyrics – songs that only sentimental types would like. These songs didn’t have consistent genres – from Tracy Chapman’s The Kiss to Chances by Athlete.
Now, on our 1st wedding anniversary I chanced upon a very apt song by Ed Sheeran – Thinking Out Loud. It prompted me to compile another 28-track mixtape for our 1st year. Came in second is Rico Blanco’s Time for You. Stars aligned for me to hear these songs and dedicate it to her.
