Since we did not meet up with my parents on the day of Father’s Day, we bonded weeks after, instead. Our middle ground was Pasay City. I thought that Mall of Asia would be jam-packed on a Sunday, a less-crowded venue would suit us best.

At W Mall, Macapagal we agreed to meet each other. We had our merienda at the food court where our fellow Chinese employees crowded the line of Baliwag stall. We had some of our food there also and some at the ramen stall.

I’m grateful for my wife, Jaycelle, for keeping the conversation with my parents going. She’s been that way ever since I introduced her to my mother, then to my father, and to the rest of my family and relatives—she has a way of connecting with my loved ones, which I’m proud of.

We capped off the night by having some sweets and drinks at Coffee Bean. It’s always refreshing to connect with my parents—and seeing them once in a while, the least.
Looking at the clock nearing nine in the evening, I’ve thought that we won’t reach MRT on time so we booked a Grab car. While riding home, we passed by the first station from the South and saw some passengers waiting. Curiously I checked the schedule of the train just to properly set our schedules during meet-ups. The last trip from Taft Ave. station is set at 9:50 p.m. and from North Ave. station is at 9:10 p.m.
